Locker room. Three girls talking by the sinks. One girl says, “My iPod just stopped working! It was working fine and then it just stopped.” Another girl says, “That’s cause Mercury’s in retrograde. I don’t really believe in that, but it fucks stuff up, especially electronics.” “Oh, no, how long is it going to last?” “Till the beginning of March.”
Left Hook, sitting on bench and putting on shoes, thinks, I wish I could rape your teenybopper fucking twenty-something faces with my foot.
Swish pan: La maison Hook. Our hungry heroine unslings her bag and hustles to the fridge. She sticks some Napa cabbage/bacon/salmon business in the microwave, heats that bitch up, and–
And the microwave won’t turn off.

Your microwave, and my goddamn Sidekick. Suddenly the main button only registers a push about a third of the time. Plus, no more vibrations.
Guess those hoes are right about some things.

My Ipod and Laptop both gave up the ghost within days of each other at the end of February. Then my insulin pump broke as well (since replaced). I thought God was punishing me, but I’m glad to know it’s actually Mercury in retrograde. The end result though is that I feel like I have time-travelled back to the nineties. Time to haul out that Blind Melon CD.
