When I first heard that Dinosaur Jr was recording a new record, I was a skeptical. So skeptical, in fact, that last time I saw them (at Rebel in December–weird place, that) I might have, like, yelled out, “Nobody wants to hear this shit!” whenever they played a new song. Maybe. Oops!
Mr. Pistol told me to listen to the new songs on their Myspace and I resisted for a long time, but then I finally did and guess what, they’re really good! It’s vintage DJ–or at least a pre-Where You Been sound. So listen if you haven’t already: “Almost Ready” and “Been There All the Time.” The album comes out in May.
